According to Dan Sullivan, the strategic coach, the more we consume the less we appreciate.

Is that really true? Are we left feeling empty after we have what we want? And if so, what can we do about it. Because the moment we have no gratitude, that’s the day life seems meaningless. People become bored, depressed, and unhappy.

Based on Dan Sullivan’s training, “The Gratitude Principles”, we can learn how to cultivate more gratitude for what we have.

He proposes we be in the “proactive gratitude” zone. Meaning we appreciate the little miracle moments in our day instead of waiting for the “big” moments to wake us up to the blessings in our life. Because the more we appreciate the little moments, our life will begin to unfold the true happiness that we always had…hidden inside of ourselves.

Here are a few simple suggestions Dan Sullivan went over in his training, The Gratitude Principles, that you could use to create gratitude in your heart:

  1. Appreciate that you are “alive” today.
  2. Focus and appreciate the little moments in life daily. Give thanks to 5 things you are grateful today.
  3. Appreciate the value others create. As you see more of this in them, you can learn to appreciate it in yourself.
